Some time ago Walter Giampaglia, a good friend of the studio Cartoon Saloon, and super talented animation professional, launched a blog where he posted some cool theme every week, and we could do some illustration or drawing inspired on it: The idea was great and there are some beautiful illustrations there of amazing artists. I did some quick drawings for the blog when i was in Berlin working in "Moonman", a featured film.
Was a pity that finally we left to publish there, probably because of the overwork... But anyway, stills there some cool work, check it out!

"TOPCAT, THE MOVIE"

"Topcat" was my first project in Cartoon Saloon and my first animation experience outside Spain. We developed in Cartoon Saloon a big part of this mexican featured film animated in Flash, and was a good oportunity for me to learn the huge possibilities of the program, which i had always used it just for simple and limited animation. They wanted a traditional 2D animation look, so we used the usual flash tools (symbols, tweens, etc), but leaning always our work in the traditional 2d animation way, drawing rough animations, keyframes, inbetweens, etc.

These are the scenes that I animated for Paul Bolger´s teaser "Wooden Sword". It was limited handrawn animation in flash, because he was looking for some kind of animated comic look. Also we had to animate 4 minutes of animation in just one month, between 4 animators: Slaaven Reese, Bárbara Cipollone and Sergio Córdoba. They did the other sequences, this is just a compilation of my scenes.
